Facilities
South Shore Park is a beautiful 7 acre park featuring Bemidji’s largest beach. In the 1930s, the City of Bemidji purchased the site and started to develop the area as a beach. Workers from the National Youth Administration completed construction of this building, a beach house, in the early 1940s.
NuPly, a wood processing company, purchased the site in 1956, and the area was home to industry until 1999. From 2015-2016, the City of Bemidji conducted lake bed cleanup and refurbished the building for public use. The renovated park was opened to the community in June of 2017.
This park features a large swim beach, carry-in access, bike amenities including bike racks, fix-it station and bottle filler.
The Old Mill Building is available for rental private or public events!
The Old Mill Building is available to rent May 15th - September 30th. The building seats 40 and electricity is available. Daily rental fee is $225.00 with a damage deposit of $300.00.
